Welcome
Welcome to the Maryland Abortion and Reproductive Clinical Health (MARCH) program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). The UMB MARCH program is designed to establish a sustainable model for advancing family planning and abortion care across Maryland. Our approach is twofold: firstly, we provide targeted education to healthcare providers, both current and aspiring; secondly, we support the implementation of reproductive health services in Maryland to address gaps in abortion and reproductive healthcare access.
This book, curated by subject matter experts at UMB, compiles resources and materials intended to supplement the UCSF Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health’s Training in Early Abortion for Comprehensive Healthcare (TEACH) curriculum.
Our UMB experts have also created an appendix that incorporates Maryland-specific laws, policies, and regulations. This will facilitate the immediate implementation of abortion service delivery in your local area. Finally, we created a companion Continuing Medical Education (CME) guide for current healthcare providers to aid in MARCH program completion.
This publication has been made possible through funding provided by the Maryland Department of Health. The content within is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily reflect or represent the official views of the Maryland Department of Health.
While the UMB MARCH program is committed to using and promoting gender-inclusive language, please note that some externally linked resources within this book may not adhere to these standards.
